Off a country road in the small town of Graton, Ca, in the heart of Western Sonoma County, you’ll find Spirit Hill Farm. A perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And while it has all the modern day conveniences we now require in life, you won’t want them. Or at least I didn’t when I walked through the front door to take a tour and meet with the owner, Carolyn.

As you pull up to Spirit Hill Farm, you are immediately drawn to the large two story porch. You can tell that this mid 1800’s turn of the century farm house has good bones and if the walls could talk, would have some good stories to tell. As you park, you are greeted by roaming chickens and a blooming garden, ready for picking. Which if you stay with Spirit Hill Farm, you have access to!

The grounds are breathtaking, I could spend hours lounging by the pool, playing bocce while sipping on a nice glass of Bowman Cellars bubbles, which is located back in Graton, just less than a mile from the property. I want to wander through the apple orchard or hang out by the outdoor fire pit with loved ones making memories! And while I fell in love with everything about this property, I adore the house. For many reasons, but mainly because I feel at home, I want to cook a big family meal and sit at the great table with family and friends and create memories. That is really what Spirit Hill Farm is all about, being in and around unspoiled nature and being inspired to reflect, let go, create, enjoy, and love.

The property is perfect for a girls weekend, a small family reunion, or a group retreat. Have a yoga session on the back lawn, a paint night on the patio with vineyard views, or go out and about and enjoy all West County has to offer! Like a visit to The Barlow in Sebastopol, a one stop shop for food, beverage, art and more. Head north on Hwy 116 and visit Pascaline Patisserie & Cafe before hitting the wineries along West Side Road. Stay closer to Graton and visit cider houses and wineries along Hwy 116 like, Horse & Plow and Red Car or head east to Olivet Road. Added bonus: there are several places to lay your head on this property. There is main Farm House, that sleeps around 7 or 8, the Guest House that sleeps 4, and a sweet little oasis on the back of the property called the Sugar Shack that sleeps 2.

So when you start to plan your next weekend in Wine Country, check out Spirit Hill Farm!
